TracieF_0292web - Tracie Frank

Tracie Frank

Voice-Over Coach

Tracie Frank is an actor and voice actor based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her voiceover career started with a voiceover meetup group in 2008, when the leader encouraged her to pursue voice and acting training. She did, and she found both to be exhilarating. Those learning experiences brought back some of the excitement and joy she’d been missing as a corporate worker bee. So Tracie took a bold step and quit her cubicle job in 2015 to fully pursue her dreams.
Surprisingly, the quarantine in 2020 helped take her voice acting career to the next level: One of Tracie’s clients was a hospital that suddenly needed her to help spread the word about the virus and how to stay safe. What had been a somewhat sporadic booking became something regular, and she was soon invited to be the brand’s “voice.”
Today Tracie has no regrets: she enjoys getting to share all the facets of her personality as an actor both on camera and behind the mic. She’s voiced projects for brands including IBM, Velux and Bank of America, and she’s the voice of Atrium Health in the Southeast. Tracie is thrilled to be able to share all she’s learning with the amazing students at Such A Voice.

Karen-Eileen Gordon was voted “One of the Ten Funniest People!” at Harvard by her peers, thanks to her daily-changing outgoing answering machine messages! A lover of “all things voice-over” from an early age, she sincerely apologizes to her baby brother Jim…for kidnapping him—and making him record radio dramas with her (using an ancient, giant cassette recorder and the Disneyland “Haunted Mansion” sound effects record).

A mega-multi-hyphenate (Voiceover Artist/Coach, Actor, Writer and Speaker), Karen-Eileen stepped memorably into public awareness with her completely improvised on-camera turn in the HBO comedy, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” opposite Larry David. She was honored to be a two-season Series Regular on the STARZ Original Drama, “Magic City” as sassy New York Dame Florence Greenhouse—right-hand goddess to that show’s leading man, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The Voice-Over Universe is Karen-Eileen’s first love. She’s an active Audiobook Narrator/Producer for Authors and Rights Holders in both the US and UK. Over the course of her 10+ year career, she has also voiced 100s of commercials—and works happily in the animation, narration and IVR fields. Strongly conversational in both French and Spanish, she brought multiple characters to life in the Rockstar Games video game, “Grand Theft Auto V”—improvising as requested by Producers in Mexican-American Spanglish!

Karen-Eileen adores coaching; she finds great joy helping fellow humans to find their unique magic. In that spirit, she also keynotes/workshops on “Radical Self-Care for Voice-Over Artists,” sharing instantly-useable toolkits to assist storytellers to thrive on their journeys. Passionate about the Wellness Arts, she is a long-time practitioner of the Japanese energy healing art of Reiki as well as Restorative Hatha Yoga…and offers guidance as a Wellness Consultant–teaching mind-body techniques to boost calm and healing.

Raymond Friend

Customer Service Manager

Ray Friend, affectionately dubbed “The Smoothenator” has been told all his life that he has a great voice. The kind of smooth, romantic and charismatic sound that people notice and are drawn to. Ray started developing that natural voice as a child lead soloist in school plays, choirs and gospel groups. Later he continued to refine his silky, melodious style and while touring the country singing professionally with several popular groups.

Ray first became interested in doing voice overs when he was asked by his Pastor to narrate the introductions for the ministry’s first television program. It was a great experience and sparked the desire to pursue voice over professionally, but Ray’s real estate career took precedence. Several years ago Ray was selected to narrate monthly broadcasts to the employees of the nationally recognized real estate firm he worked for and was reminded again that he really should be putting this naturally gifted talent to work. A short time later he studied with Such A Voice in our one-on-one coaching program. This has enabled Ray to truly hone his natural sound and transform into a working professional voice over actor capable of interpreting a script and delivering the style necessary to “nail the read”.

Ray now works full time as a voice actor and is available to record: Radio and TV spots and tags, audiobooks, PSAs, documentaries, Technical/Medical Narrations, IVR and On-Hold Messages and much more. Additionally he has joined the Such A Voice staff serving as Customer Service Specialist.
