Staff Spotlight: Gilbert Thrall

Here at Such A Voice, we bring together some pretty incredible professionals from all different parts of the world to provide our students with a top voice-over education. Our staff members have such a wide variety of backgrounds and unique personalities. From working VO actors starring in movies, video games, and national TV commercial campaigns, to producers spending their days working on voice-over demos as well as broadcast voice-over work, to copywriters, casting directors and many other industry skills in between! We genuinely love bringing our expertise and our experiences together to create the best programs for our students.

For this week’s staff spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to our Billing Administrator, Gilbert Thrall!

SAV: Hi Gilbert! Thanks for taking the time to chat. We’d love to learn more about who you are.

Thrall: Hi! My full name is Gilbert Arthur Thrall, some call me Gilly. I hail from the lands of Minnesota. I enjoy playing video games and hanging out with my friends. I enjoy being silly.

SAV: What do you do here at SAV?

Thrall: I am in charge of doing the SAV bookkeeping, which entails recording our cash flow as well as auditing our records. I am also in charge of payroll.

SAV: What do you enjoy the most about working at SAV?

Thrall: I like being part of a good company and I enjoy laughing with my co-workers.

SAV: If you were to do a voice-over for any type of animated movie/television character, who would it be and why?

Thrall: Hmmmm, perhaps something like the Cheshire Cat. I like the idea of being a mysterious background character.

SAV: What’s your favorite season?

Thrall: I wouldn’t say I have a favorite. It depends. I enjoy certain parts of every season, like tons of snow in the winter or warm nights in the summer/fall.

SAV: What’s your favorite meal to cook up around the holiday season?

Thrall: I don’t do a ton of cooking myself. Though, I enjoy a good hearty stew or perhaps some Who-Pudding and Roast Beast…

SAV: What’s the last thing you watched on TV? Would you recommend it to others?

Thrall: The last television show that I watched was Hannibal on Amazon Prime. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a good psychological thriller and who like Mad Mikkelsen.

SAV: Where’s one place in the U.S where you would like to visit?

Thrall: Perhaps, somewhere in Alaska. I have seen a lot of cool pictures and think it would be fun to explore.

SAV: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

Thrall: A Mote of Starstuff

SAV: What accomplishment were you most proud of last year?

Thrall: I was really happy that I got our accounting systems updated to a new system that allows us to better track all of our expenses.

SAV: Have any new year resolutions?

Thrall: I am focused on working towards a better version of myself, a software update.
