As actors, our job is to audition. You’ve likely heard this before. Focus on the audition, not on the outcome. You may have heard it before, because it’s true!
Today, we’re peeking into a day in the life in my VO studio to record some audiobook auditions. Truth be told, I’m currently in the middle of recording a fantasy romance title and have three other books in line to record next. BUT that doesn’t mean I should sleep on my audition game. You never know where your next project will come from. And auditioning should continue even when we’re working!
My audition routine is seven easy steps:
- Research
- Prep
- Warm-up
- Record
- Edit
- Submit
- FORGET!
Once it’s submitted, forget it. Time to move on to the next thing.
